Why should we value long-lasting relationships?
As the holidays are slowly approaching, so are the family gatherings, reconnection with people and overall spending time with loved ones. This season allows us to dwell in the world of cherishing our long lasting relationships.
To value long-lasting relationships as a woman is an essential aspect of personal growth and well-being. Having a community of people is particularly beneficial since it fosters mutual understanding and empathy, allowing us as individuals to navigate shared challenges and joys. Therefore, within our next pillar we want to focus on learning the importance of valuing and creating friendships with people, romantic or platonic, and how these bonds can help us create the life we cannot wait to wake up to.

On the topic of friendship, Michelle Obama mentions in her book ‘The Light We Carry’ that her ‘kitchen table’ is a group of women that have helped her through some of the most difficult times as well as have cheered for her during happy ones. They’re mentors and people that I’ve looked up to. They are my mentees who are now grown women in their own careers. My kitchen table is broad, with diverse races and ages. It is one of my most powerful tools.’ Even research by HBR backs up the importance of having a circle of friends. It has been proven that relationships with other women can provide a sense of camaraderie and empowerment, enabling women to stand together in a world that sometimes presents unique obstacles and expectations.
On the topic of romantic relationships, understanding love, its nuances, and the dynamics of intimate connections equips us to navigate the intricate landscape of romantic partnerships with wisdom and grace. It’s through the experience of love that we learn the art of compromise, patience, and the beauty of vulnerability.
